Three great friends and I just returned home from Las Vegas on some serious business. We all completed the Las Vegas ROCK N ROLL Half Marathon. We made the trip with one goal in mind, to ROCK the half marathon, but I have to say we rocked the trip all the way around. I don't think it is really possible to have a mellow night "in," in Las Vegas. We attempted it, but the night prior to the race looked something like this.
Dancin' the night away at Barat Times Square Piano Bar, of course, after trying our hand at a few games of Craps. And oh ya, after losing EVERY hand (is it a hand in roulette?) of Roulette that I played!
Getting our picture taken with a real New Yorker (it was his birthday, or so he said) in the New York, New York Hotel and Casino. (You would think he would have been a bit happier as he was getting a picture with four lovely ladies and seeing how HE asked US for a picture! Ahh, New Yorkers)

And carbo-loading on some New York Style pizza. (This was our second carbo-loading meal of the night..good night Weight Watchers!)
Believe it or not, we had a relatively early night but our 3:30 a.m. wake up call came soon enough. 25,000 or so runners joined us to run the strip at 6:00 a.m. completing either 13.1 miles or a full 26.2 miles! It was an awesome event with the likes of....

We ran with many running Elvi, some running Brides and Grooms (75 couples, to be exact, got married while running the marathon), quite a few running Santa's and Elves and a handful of running Showgirls among thousands of other runners. And the best looking four of the bunch:

Jennifer, Me, Sarah and Teresa.
To say I am extremely proud of us all is an understatement. Jen and Sarah completed their first race EVER with this race. No 5ks or 10ks to build up to this, they just jumped right in and went for the Half Marathon. Teresa and I both had babies (some of us two :) within the past 6 months. Finding the time to train was difficult but we did it and did it well!
And then we coincidentally ended our last night in Vegas at the Rok Vegas club and danced the night away. Were we tired? Yes! Did our feet
hurt? Yes! Did our legs ache? Yes! Did we have chaffing in areas
we shouldn't mention? Yes! But we danced anyway. Why? Because WE ROCK!
And, if you don't believe me, well you can ask these two... they know!
(* Please forgive the quality of these pictures... I wasn't too focused on it this weekend :)
